Exercise: Answer two questions: How have I changed since stating a brain healthy program? What keeps me going?

I have changed in several ways. One of the easiest ones for me to point to is my nutrition.

Before starting this book I judged people who bought organic foods. I basically thought they were hypochondriacs scared of their own shadows. Since starting this book in November if 2023 I’ve begun buying organic. The reason I buy organic is mainly for nutrient density. That said while I never cared about chemicals from pesticides or in the ingredients in that past, I do think about it more.

I was a prime example of having become adapted to a profoundly sick society. I bought all the lies about factory farming and the food supply that had been taught to us. They are actually so insidious that I didn’t even realize that they had been taught to me. An example, non-organic is better because of the pesticides. With organic your going to be sharing your food with bugs. This is just one example of a lie that has been taught through osmosis to keep us fat, sick, and nearly dead.

The reason I keep at it is for brain health. When I’m mentally clear everything is better. I played football for 8 years and binge drank for a while so I’ve put my brain through hell. I want to undo as much damage as I can. When my brain works well everything is better.
