Day 20: People Get Sick or Well in Four Circles

Synopsis

about the “Change You Brain Everyday” Blog

The four circles are biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. If the brain were a computer, the biological circle is the hardware, the psychological is the software, social is the network connections, and spiritual is the wi-fi.

Exercise: Rate your health in each of the four circles. For each circle write one strength and one vulnerability you have.

For the biological circle I think I’m a 9 out of 10. I’m not perfect but I’m in good health and still working toward a 10. Lets face it, you can never get to 10 but you can aim for it. My strength is my athletic ability and my weakness is Reese’s Sticks.

For psychological I’m probably an 8. Maybe a 7. I’m pretty resilient and I’m usually calm in the face of a swell. There are some days though where I just don’t feel myself and its hard to shake. My strength is my no-nonsense attitude… drive. My vulnerability is poor sleep. When the poor sleep adds up is when eventually I have to sleep in. That is when I’m not myself. I’ve always been an earlier riser so If I’m not up before the sun than something is wrong.

For social I’m a 6. I’m not lonely. In my respects I enjoy being alone however I should be more social. Literally as I write this I’m turning down an opportunity to go out. I pass up a lot of social engagements but I’d better start saying yes to more before I kick off a negative feedback loop and never get invited anywhere again. My strength is that I can get along with all types of people and most people find me chill. My vulnerability is being around too many people can drain my energy. Though most people that know me wouldn’t call me an introvert I am. I’m not shy, but being around large groups all day can be draining.

For spiritual I’d say I’m a 7. My strength is that I’m seeking answers and a greater purpose. My vulnerability is that I don’t do a good job or prioritizing spirituality. I save if for the end of the day or try to compartmentalize it when it should be the most important thing of the day. I mean really, why then heck are we here. Its not to post Instagram videos and to accumulate a bunch of useless shit.
