I’m not a parent. Of all of them I hope I do not do #7. While constructive criticism is good it needs to be constructive. Focusing on the negative and ignoring the positive is soul crushing for a youngster. I’ll probably use the compliment sandwich. “You played great today!
Good job in the infield. Lets spend a little more time on you base running in practice so that you can score even more runs! I loved your hustle too. No one showed more dedication to the game than you.”
