Synopsis
about the “Change You Brain Everyday” Blog
Female brains are more active than men’s in 70 of the 80 areas brain areas observed. Women tend to have greater self control and an appropriate amount of worry. The high amount of activity also can lead to eating disorders, trouble quieting the mind, sleeping issues, and sensitivity to pain.
Exercise: If you have any of these challanges schedule an appointment for treatment to bring your brain into balance.
I’m not sure that this chapter applies directly to me. That said I’m starting a weekly support group soon that will discuss techniques for dealing with anxiety and I’ll have a weekly check in with a therapist.
I’m a little hesitant to have written that down because of the stigma that goes along with seeing someone for mental health. That’s just the thing though. I’m seeing someone to preserve my mental health. Its preventative care not sick care. In the past I’ve experienced anxiety induced migraines and soul crushing bouts of depression.
I cleaned up my diet, started doing yoga, and began meditating and all of that has cleared up for the most part. When I slowed my mind down and started living in and appreciating the moment most of my anxiety issues went away. I still get anxious from time to time but only about 10% of what it was when it was bad. In my support group I’ll be able to share these coping mechanisms with others and see what works for them.
In summary I’m very balanced right now and I am seeking “treatment” to help me maintain my balance.
