Exercise: Do not let your kids, boys or girls, hit soccer balls with thier head and protect thier brain by always weaing a helmet for activities that reccomend it.

I will make sure that my niece and nephew know the dangers if hitting soccer balls with their heads.

Honestly this is a difficult topic to discuss because I’m very torn on it. Contact sports have great benefits for youth but their is no doubt that the come with the risk of head trauma. I’m very glad that I got to play football for 8 years. There is no way that it had zero effect on my brain. We were taught the proper tackling techniques to keep our heads and necks healthy. Even so there is not way to remove head collisions from tackle football.

I would not take back my time playing football. I don’t think younger generations should be deprived of it. That said with my future children I’ll probably encourage basketball. They can still learn grit, hard work, and teamwork with less head trauma.
